The new 2013 Subaru BRZ was engineered with the fundamentals of a sports coupe in mind. The new 2013 Subaru BRZ weighs 2,762 lbs., which makes it the lightest closed rear-wheel drive sports car in the U.S. market. The 2013 BRZ center of gravity beats any production car made, at 18.1 inches, thanks to the new Subaru FA-Series 2.0-liter Boxer® engine. It may be a smaller engine, but makes up for it in power, helping the BRZ achieve an ultra-low center of gravity. This new engine combines light weight with high power, high compression and high-revving reflex, with a 7,400-rpm redline. The engine's astonishing broad torque curves the peak at an estimated 150 foot/pounds and a great midrange, which allows the BRZ to be responsive for any driving style.

The 2013 BRZ gives you the option of a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission, both engineered to maximize performance style driving. The BRZ six-speed automatic transmission model comes with paddle- shifters and Sports Mode for automatic shifting. You also have the capability to shift manually using handle shifters or steering wheel paddle-shifters for a more intense driving experience. The six-speed manual comes standard with a short-throw shifter, and manual transmission pedals made for perfect "heel-and-toe" downshifting.
